How AppleRugs Started?
In July 2016, Baburam Dangi launched Apple Rugs with a dream to revolutionize the carpet industry. Focused on sustainability, they began weaving eco-friendly rugs using natural handspun yarn like nettle, hemp, and cactus, sourced locally from Nepal’s rural areas. Joined by his sister, Sirjana Dangi, the duo aimed to generate employment and promote traditional craftsmanship. Today, Apple Rugs is celebrated internationally for its beautiful and sustainable carpets, serving hotels, wholesalers, and interior designers while championing eco-conscious practices and community empowerment.
