Materials Used in Apple Rugs:
A Commitment to Sustainability and
Innovation
Material selection plays a pivotal role in the
manufacturing of any product, especially when it comes
to designing something as intricate and essential as
rugs. For Apple Rugs, the commitment to sustainability
and high-quality design plays a central role in their
material selection process. Choosing the right
material is not just a matter of preference; it is
essential for producing rugs that are both beautiful
and eco-friendly. The wrong choice of material can
negatively affect the final product's longevity and,
more importantly, harm the environment.
In response to these concerns, Apple Rugs prioritizes
Earth-friendly materials, incorporating fibers that
are sustainable, biodegradable, and renewable. By
choosing such materials, Apple Rugs not only ensures
that their products are functional and stylish but
also contributes to the overall well-being of the
planet.
APPLE RUGS is committed to
minimizing our environmental impact on the world. We
strive to discover new techniques and materials that
will reduce our global footprint and uphold our
ecological responsibility. Because of our devotion to
maintaining an eco-friendly company, we have the ECO
Collection, which is dedicated to providing our
environmentally-conscious clients with stunning rugs
that are kind to our planet.
ECO COLLECTION uses sustainable
processes and resources in order to ensure both high
quality and eco-friendly carpets. We use non-metallic
dyes, which reduce the water pollution created when
rugs are rinsed, and give a beautiful, natural sheen.
Although we use natural fibers in all of our rugs,
such as banana silk, wool, and bamboo, ECO Collection
is limited to only untreated and naturally treated
materials. The collection is comprised of sunpat,
nettle, hemp, silk, and unprocessed wool, along with
many other fibers. We pride ourselves on using
innovative combinations of these materials to achieve
rich textures and hues that showcase the beauty of an
environmentally-friendly carpet.
Silk

Silk has long been associated with luxury and refinement, making it a prized material in rug-making. Apple Rugs carefully incorporates silk into its designs while prioritizing ethical and sustainable sourcing practices to minimize environmental impact.
Why Silk?
Silk fibers are naturally strong yet incredibly soft, lending a smooth, lustrous sheen to rugs. This unique texture enhances intricate designs and patterns, creating visually stunning pieces with a rich, elegant finish. Unlike synthetic alternatives, silk is a biodegradable material, meaning it naturally decomposes over time, reducing waste and pollution.
Sustainability & Ethical Sourcing
While conventional silk production can be resource-intensive, Apple Rugs ensures that its silk is sourced responsibly. Ethical silk farming involves humane practices, such as the collection of silk from cocoons without harming the silkworms (a process known as "peace silk" or Ahimsa silk). Additionally, sustainable silk production relies on eco-conscious dyeing and processing techniques, minimizing water usage and chemical waste.
Benefits of Silk in Rugs
Exceptional Softness & Texture – Silk enhances the luxurious feel of a rug, making it exceptionally smooth underfoot.
Natural Strength & Durability – Despite its delicate appearance, silk fibers are remarkably strong and resistant to wear.
Vibrant & Long-Lasting Colors – Silk absorbs dyes beautifully, resulting in richly colored rugs that maintain their vibrancy over time.
Eco-Friendly & Biodegradable – When sourced ethically, silk becomes a sustainable material option with minimal environmental footprint.
Apple Rugs' Commitment to Quality & Sustainability
By using silk alongside responsibly sourced wool and natural fibers, Apple Rugs blends timeless craftsmanship with modern sustainability. Each silk-infused rug reflects a commitment to ethical practices, offering a perfect balance of luxury and eco-conscious design.
